Head to Head
Teams Last 10
This game will be played at MetLife Stadium at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
Why Bet The Giants:
✅ These teams are very even statistically for the most part. The biggest difference is that the passing game for the Bears is so much worse than that of every other team in the NFL. Chicago is averaging under 80 passing yards per game so far this year. That is simply not going to get the job done against professional football teams in the year 2022. Expect the Giants to take advantage of that with a win and a cover of the three-point spread.

✅ The Bears have been clearly worse on the road than they have been at home early in the season. They have gone 2-0 at home against the 49ers and Texans, and were blown out on the road against the Packers. While the Giants lack the offensive firepower of the Packers, namely at the quarterback position, the Bears’ road woes will continue here against New York.
✅ Saquon Barkley is looking like the player the Giants hoped they would be getting when they drafted him this season. He ranks second in the NFL in rushing yardage this year, and is averaging a robust 6.0 yards per carry. Against a Bears defense that is tied for 20th in yards per carry allowed this season, Barkley should have another big game for the Giants.
Chicago Bears
Last week, the Chicago Bears took a close game against the Houston Texans to move to 2-1 on the season. They blew an early 10-0 lead, but managed to clamp down on the Texans defensively in the fourth quarter, getting a last-second field goal after intercepting a pass from Davis Mills. This week, the Bears will look for their first road win of the season, in another game where their defense could be the deciding factor.
Unlikely to be the deciding factor for the Bears is Justin Fields, who has continued to play poorly for Chicago at quarterback. Fields has completed just 51.1% of his passes on the season so far, for a Bears offense that has averaged the fewest passing yards in the league so far. Some of this has been a product of playcalling, as the Bears have not let Fields loose, but Fields also needs to be better with his attempts to get more chances.
New York Giants
The New York Giants lost their first game on Monday Night Football, getting beat by the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants held a 13-6 lead in the third quarter after a Saquon Barkley touchdown run, but could only muster a field goal the rest of the way, giving up two straight touchdowns to relinquish the lead and the game. This week, the Giants will hope that facing Justin Fields will be just what they need to bounce back.
In this Bears vs Giants game, the pass protection for the Giants has to be better than it was against the Cowboys. Dallas’ pass rush is far better than that of the average NFL team, but the Giants allowed five sacks, as Daniel Jones did not have time to let routes develop on a regular basis. They need to do better protecting their quarterback to avoid a second straight loss at home.
