Head to Head
Teams Last 10
This game will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, October 30, 2022.
Why Bet The Over:
✅ In this contest, the weaknesses of each defense should help the other side put up points. Carolina ranks 22nd in the NFL against the run, which will benefit an Atlanta rushing attack that ranks fourth in rushing yards per game. And the Falcons rank dead last in passing yards allowed per game, which will help the Panthers move the ball through the air, which they have not been good at this year.

✅ Carolina is at least trending in the right direction at the quarterback position heading into this game. P.J. Walker played well to deliver a win against the Buccaneers in Week 7. And with it possible that Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield returns to the field for this contest, the Panthers could be more of a threat with their offense than they have been for much of this season.
✅ Atlanta has been one of the only teams that has been consistently profitable when betting on the over this season. They are 4-3 to the over on the year so far, including an over last week against the Cincinnati Bengals. Expect the Falcons to put up some points with their running game, and for their defense to allow Carolina to do just enough to push this one over the number.
Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers scored one of the most shocking results in recent memory in the NFL in Week 7. They beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 21-3, shutting down Tom Brady and the Bucs. Perhaps more surprising was the play of the Carolina offense, which did not fold under the pressure of playing with a lead. P.J. Walker threw two touchdown passes and no interceptions, as the Panthers won outright as 13-point underdogs.
This week, the quarterback situation for the Panthers is again up in the air. The status of quarterbacks Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield are unclear. Although there is an argument to be made that Walker should start again regardless after helping the Panthers win amid unbelievable circumstances last week. Either way, the Panthers will come into this game with some confidence that they could not have imagined having this time last week.
Atlanta Falcons
Last week, the Atlanta Falcons lost to the Cincinnati Bengals, giving up 35 points thanks to an inability to stop the pass. Joe Burrow threw for 481 yards against the Falcons defense, in a game where the Falcons were never really in position to win. This week, the Falcons return home, where they are favored against the Panthers.
This is another game where the Falcons will be expected to put up big numbers on the ground. Atlanta has not seen a huge drop-off in rushing production since Cordarrelle Patterson went on injured reserve. And against a Panthers team that is below average at stopping the run, Atlanta should be able to dictate the pace of play with their rushing attack once again.
