The Cardinals travel to Jacksonville for a lopsided matchup. The Cardinals have shown they are one of the better teams in the league through two weeks. They are poised to take the step into playoff contention. The Jaguars on the other hand, have been abysmal through two weeks. Urban Meyer is likely learning that it is more difficult to coach when he hasn’t recruited the best 11 players on the field.
Cardinals vs Jaguars Betting Pick
This game will be played at 1PM EST on Sunday, September 26th at TIAA Bank Field
Why bet the Cardinals?
✅ Heading into the season, I had serious doubts about Urban Meyer’s ability to be even an average coach in the NFL. Through two weeks, those doubts have proven warranted, as the Jaguars are at least on a short list to be ranked as the worst team in the league. If they are not the worst team in the league, they are the worst coached team in the league. The roster is not so bad that they are outplayed at every level on both sides of the ball. That outcome has come to fruition through two weeks, and the coaching is to blame. Until there is a coaching change, we are highly unlikely to see any improvement. With two games in the books, we have two double digit losses for Meyer, and a third is imminently on the way.
✅ Franchise cornerstone Trevor Lawrence has gotten off to a rough start to his NFL career. He has thrown five interceptions through two games, and additionally heaved a gaggle of uncatchable passes. In fairness to him, the coaching incompetence has trickled down and affected him terribly, and he will have more of the same this week. We have seen the results of a trailing game script and the team being forced to essentially abandon the run. The forced passing volume put on Lawrence’s shoulders is something he cannot overcome at this hatchling stage of his career. After ugly results in two softer matchups, the Jaguars now have to contend with the Cardinals high powered passing offense. This one could truly get out of hand.

✅ The Cardinals passing offense remains high end, and they are going to have a very easy time of it on Sunday. Adding Rondale Moore’s high end and unique skill set to an already effective unit is a huge boon. Deandre Hopkins remains an elite alpha wide receiver. After allowing 132 receiving yards to Brandin Cooks and 159 yards to Courtland Sutton, the Jaguars should be terridied of the Cardinals wide receivers. The passing offense is going to score, score often and score from anywhere on the field. The Jaguars offense is simply not built to compete nor play from behind, and we will have a blow out for the Cardinals.
