Why Bet The 49ers:
✅ This game is projected as a two-score victory for the Arizona Cardinals by our numbers. But the ankle injury to Kyler Murray dramatically shifts what Arizona is able to do on offense in this game against the 49ers. Combine that with home-field advantage for the 49ers in this game and San Francisco should be able to beat a weakened Cardinals squad.
✅ Also important is the fact that the pass rush for the Cardinals is hampered by the loss of JJ Watt for the season. We saw the Packers move the ball effectively against Arizona last week with Watt out of the picture, even with the top-three receivers for the Packers out due to injuries or COVID-related issues. San Francisco should be able to do the same.

✅ A big reason why San Francisco’s offense should have success is that the Cardinals have one of the worst run defenses in the league on a per carry basis. They let the Packers run all over them last Thursday night, and the Niners are a team with a much strong rushing attack thanks to the offensive system of Kyle Shanahan.
Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals lost their first game of the 2021 NFL season last week when they fell to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football. In what was a very entertaining game, the Cardinals simply couldn’t get enough stops and fell short in the end thanks to a Kyler Murray interception in the end zone during the final stages of the game. But more important than the result of that game was the ankle injury suffered by Murray down the stretch that could impact the rest of the season for Arizona.
Murray suffered a sprained ankle against the Packers, and his status for this Sunday’s game is uncertain. If Murray is unable to go, the Cardinals would have to rely on Colt McCoy as their quarterback in a key division game this weekend. That would be a disaster, as McCoy has proven time and time again that he is not a starting caliber quarterback in the NFL.
San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers picked up a road win last week, beating the Chicago Bears on the road in a game they needed to have. San Francisco’s defense was by no means stellar in the win, but the offense managed to put up plenty of points to win comfortably. This week, the Niners will look for a second straight week of quality offensive performance against a Cardinals team that could be in disarray.
For the Niners, this game will come down to how well they can run the football. Arizona has been abysmal at stopping the run this year, and that happens to be one of the strengths of this Niners team. If the 49ers can control this game with their ground attack, they could come up with a win to get above .500 regardless of who the Cardinals’ quarterback is.
