Key Storylines
- The Thunder enter this game riding a nine-game win streak. Their recent 122–95 demolition of the Portland Trail Blazers was a statement performance. They were led by the league’s top guard, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who dropped 37 points in 30 minutes. Oklahoma City’s offense has been excellent and their defense continues to stifle opponents. The Thunder are 17-1 to start the season and are the favorites to win this year’s NBA Finals.
- Minnesota has looked vulnerable lately. The Timberwolves have lost two straight games, including a gut-wrenching 117–112 overtime defeat to the Sacramento Kings after blowing a 10-point lead in the final minutes. Despite a strong scoring attack, poor late-game execution and defensive lapses have become recurring headaches.
- The Thunder are without Jalen Williams for this game, while SGA is also questionable to take part. Minnesota has a clean injury report going into this contest and they will try to use that to their advantage to stop the bleeding on the road.
- This is a huge game for both teams in the NBA Cup. The Thunder can remain the only unbeaten team in West Group A with a win, while the Wolves could really use a win to get to 3-1 and give themselves a chance to advance.

Final Thoughts
The Thunder should continue their winning ways by getting a win at home over the Timberwolves. But I’m taking the points with the Wolves in this matchup. The uncertainty surrounding SGA’s status in this game could send the betting line in Minnesota’s favor depending on whether or not SGA plays. But even if the MVP does play, I think we’re in for a close game between these teams before the NBA takes Thursday off for Thanksgiving.
