Lakers vs Nuggets Betting Pick
This game will be played at Footprint Center at 10:30 PM ET on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
Why Bet The Suns:
✅ With four games to go, the Lakers are in dire straits. They trail the tenth-seeded San Antonio Spurs by two games. The Suns, on the other side, have nothing to play for after clinching the best record in the NBA, but they should have enough firepower to outlast the slumping Lakers. Phoenix has dropped just three of its last 14 games overall, while the Lakers have won only three of their previous 15. Frankly, the Lakers have been a complete disaster since the All-Star break.
✅ After I’ve mentioned the Lakers’ awful run of form, let’s take a closer look at the numbers. Los Angeles has covered the spread only six times in its last 20 outings at any location. Over their previous ten showings, the Lakers have recorded a minus-7.2 net rating, allowing a whopping 123.8 points per 100 possessions. Also, the Lakers have posted the fifth-worst net rating in the NBA in their last five contests (-11.3), allowing their rivals to shoot 52.0% from the field.

✅ Keep tracking the injury report, as Phoenix could easily decide to rest some players Tuesday. On the other side, the Lakers have struggled with injuries over the last few weeks. LeBron James hasn’t appeared in four of Los Angeles’ last six contests, and the Lakers have lost on all six occasions. James is recovering from an ankle injury. He’s doubtful to play against the Suns.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers are on a six-game slide following a 129-118 home loss to the Denver Nuggets last Sunday. Anthony Davis led the charge with 28 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists, while Russell Westbrook posted a line of 27 points, ten boards, and seven dimes, but the Lakers once more struggled in the fourth quarter when it mattered the most.
The Nuggets outscored the Lakers 34-24 in the final 12 minutes. They took full advantage of Los Angeles’ poor defense. The Lakers have surrendered 120 or more points in eight of their previous ten games overall.
Phoenix Suns
The Suns have dropped two games in a row. After a 122-114 defeat at Memphis as 8-point road favorites, the Suns lost at Oklahoma City 117-96 as massive 14-point favorites. They rested Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton, and Jae Crowder, but that cannot be an excuse for making only 41.6% of their field goals and 18.4% of their 3-pointers.
Mikal Bridges was the Suns’ top scorer in Devin Booker’s absence, finishing with 18 points on 7-for-17 shooting from the field. Chris Paul had 11 points, nine assists, and three steals, while Cameron Johnson chipped in 14 points, four boards, three dimes, and a pair of steals.
