Clippers vs Lakers
The Clippers and Lakers meet in the battle of Los Angeles for superiority in the Staples Center. This particular game is a home game for the Clippers, so it will be the Clippers season ticket holders in the seats.
This season has been something of a disappointment for both teams. Both the the Lakers and the Clippers entered the season with real championship aspirations, and both are falling well short. Both teams are currently clinging to play-in level playoff life, but that was certainly not the hope nor expectation for either team. Additionally, both teams are currently under the .500 mark.
The reasoning for the disappointment is far more apparent for the Clippers than it is for the Lakers. The Clippers have been without their stars and have not played a single game at full strength this season. Kawhi Leonard is yet to play a game this season and Paul George has been out for the majority. Relatively speaking, what they have done without their phenoms is quite admirable.
The Lakers on the other hand are just full blown underachieving. Lebron James is likely out again for this game, and his hands in personnel decisions are starting to show the consequences. Anthony Davis has returned from injury, but this is the second half of a back to back. Davis has only returned in the last week and played back to backs just twice this season. The Lakers could be without him as well for this game.

Why Bet The Clippers
✅ The Clippers, despite the full absence of star power have been playing admirably. They are coming off of a two week road trip in which they went 4-4. Not Earth shattering but impressive nonetheless for a team without a star on the floor. They now return home where they have won their last three games. Even on a shared home floor with their opponent, returning home after eight consecutive road games will be a relief.
✅ For the last two seasons, the Clippers have truly had the Lakers number. The Clippers won the first meeting this season in December. That brings their winning streak against the Lakers to four straight. The Clippers won all three matchups last season. While I am a Clevelander and have never been a huge fan of Tyronn Lue as a coach, I have to give credit where credit is due. He has gotten more than can be expected out of the currently available roster.
✅ The Lakers have been far from impressive for the entirety of this season, and are in the midst of their worst stretch yet. They have lost eight of their last twelve games overall. While their struggles are in total, they have especially struggled against playoff teams in road games. They got a win in Brooklyn in a game the Nets were down both Kevin Durant an Kyrie Irving. To find the occurrence before that when the Lakers beat a playoff team on the road, we have to go back to mid December. If you went looking for a third occurrence, you would come up empty. It has only happened twice this season.
