Two Western Conference contenders will collide on Saturday night when the Denver Nuggets visit the Minnesota Timberwolves. Both teams are in the middle of winning streaks coming into this matchup. Key Storylines
- Nikola Jokić’s dominance: The Nuggets’ big man has been playing at an elite level to start the season. He opened with four straight triple-doubles and he dropped 55 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists in his last game, shooting 18-of-23 from the field.
- Minnesota’s injury trouble: Anthony Edwards, the Wolves’ All-Star, missed time with a strained right hamstring and was only recently cleared to return for full contact. His absence earlier likely disrupted Minnesota’s rhythm but the Wolves are playing well with him back on the floor.
- Momentum & form: Denver has been rolling, winning six games in a row coming into this game. The Wolves are also playing well, winners of four straight games coming into this matchup.
- Offensive firepower: Both of these teams are averaging over 120 points per game coming into this contest. It will be interesting to see which team does the best job of neutralizing the red-hot offense on the opposite side of this game.

Final Thoughts
This is going to be a very close game. But Nikola Jokic has a documented history of dominating offensively against Rudy Gobert when those two bigs have been matched up. I’m going to take the points with the Nuggets as a slight underdog in this game, as Denver could very well win a second straight game in Minnesota this year and a seventh straight game overall.
