Celtics vs Clippers
This interconference matchup is between a pair of expected playoff teams that are reeling from player absences. Both teams are hovering around .500 and have dealt with starts and role players missing time. However, one team has it worse than the other.
The Celtics will be without both Jayson Tatum and Dennis Schroeder for this game. Of course that pair is a significant low for any game, but they are not as bad off as the Clippers are.
The Clippers are playing a skeleton crew right now. Both of their true stars are out for the foreseeable future. Kawhi Leonard is yet to play a game this season and will not be back any time soon. Paul George is out for roughly a month with a torn ligament in his elbow. Their next best player, Reggie Jackson, is also out this week in the health and safety protocols. Additionally the Clippers will be missing Nic Batum and Isaiah Hartenstein.

Why Bet The Celtics
✅ The Celtics are already winning the war of attrition. We discussed the player absences in the intro, now to focus on who is available. The Celtics have one of their stars. Jaylen Brown continues to play at a very high level, and will be the focal scorer in this game. Additionally, the Celtics will have Marcus Smart and Al Horford available, arguably the next two best contributors on either side. The Celtics have also gotten great play form the likes of Payton Pritchard, Romeo Langford, Robert Williams and Grant Williams of late. This is while the Clippers have been reliant on the likes of Eric Bledsoe and Marcus Morris to carry them.
✅ The Clippers could be in for a rough stretch, as they have not been forced to play on the road much in the first third of the season. They have only played 35% of their games away from home. Of course that inevitably evens out, and this is one of those road spots. They have just five road wins on the season, and are two games under .500 in away games. Their last two games have been at home while being forced to play with this skeleton crew, both losses. Now they have to head to the East coast where things will inevitably get worse.
C’s Get It Done At Home
✅ The Celtics are a team that is far better at home than on the road. Their 7-12 road record is quite a split form their 9-6 home record. The Celtics are top half in the league in every statistical category at home. Of course, they are bottom half in every category on the road. While they do not do anything exceptionally well at home, they do everything above average. That is all that will be needed against a Clippers team bringing no star power, road struggles and a losing streak of their own.
