UFC 275 is a Pay Per View card that takes place overseas for the first time in quite some time. The card will take place at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. This is a very high end pay per view card. The headlining fights are a pair of title fights and a rematch from a fight of the year.
UFC 275 brings the customary start time for a pay per view, despite being overseas. There is a 12 hour time difference between Singapore and the American East Coast. The 6:30PM EST start time on Saturday night is a 6:30AM EST for the fighters. The twelve fight card has a majority of tight betting lines. Of the 12 fights, just one carries a betting line eclipsing -260. Eight of the twelve fights see the favorite sitting at 2:1 or less.

Quick Look Back
Last weekโs event was another profitable one. We made a solid multiple unit return, but it could have been an absolute banger of a night once again. Our plays went 2-1, with the biggest plus figure cashing in the first fight of the night. Erin Blanchfield was a sizeable favorite against JJ Aldrich, but was getting a +240 ITD return. After the worst round of her UFC career in the first round, she turned it up in the second round. She got a standing guillotine to cash our tickets and guarantee a profitable night just one fight in.
Our second play was on Jeff Molina flat. We saw Herb Deanโs first mistake of the night in this fight. Zhumagulov lost his mouthpiece in an exchange. Molina was landing crisp and rushing his opponent when Dean thought that was a good opportunity to stop the action to return the mouthpiece. Elite coach James Krause was not shy about letting Dean know about his error. Molina went on to win a split decision, and we legitimately had to sweat that one out.
The last play of the night was in the main event. We had Jair Rozenstruick inside the distance against Alexander Volkov. After some trading, Rozenstruick was wobbled against the fence. Dean was quite eager to stop the fight and stepped in. I personally thought it was another in a long line of putrid Dean stoppages. That said, it was not unanimously agreed upon throughout the community. Some thought it was fine, but I surely did not. Nor did Rozenstruick. The loss in the main event brought us to 2-1 on the night but still profiting the entirety of our Blanchfield wager.
UFC 275 Fight Card
The UFC 275 fight card is truly one to be excited about. The early prelims may leave a bit to be desired, but that is certainly not the case for the rest of the card. The 12 fights are a bit low on the volume side, but so ends the list of potential complaints. The televised prelims are rock solid, and are completely outdone by the pay per view portion.
UFC 275 Main Event
The main event brings us an awesome matchup for the light heavyweight title. Champion Glover Texeira welcomes challenger Jiri Prochazka. The 29 year old striker Prochazka is on quite a run. He immediately was thrust into the top of the division and did not disappoint. He has a pair of second round knockouts over Volkan Oezdemir and Dominick Reyes in the UFC. Beating those two fighters in impressive fashion was enough to earn him this title shot. Prochazka is also on a great run overall. He has not lost a fight since 2015, winning 12 straight. Take the majority of that streak with a grain of salt, as the level of competition was not there until reaching the UFC.
Glover Texeira is quite different than Prochazka. The 42 year old has been in the UFC for a decade, and took the long road to the title. He won the title last year a week after his 41st birthday. The champ has reinvented himself in recent years and is truly still dangerous at his advanced age. He has learned to roll with eating punches all while improving his ability to initiate grappling. His BJJ game is his bread and butter and is the single greatest advantage for either fighter in this matchup.
Striker vs Grappler
This matchup will absolutely play out as a striker vs grappler matchup. There is little dispute on that fact. Prochazka of course is the striker, and is a wild man in that regard. He is unorthodox with his approach and finds angles and strikes that are just different, and quite difficult for his opponents to prepare for. That is his true advantage in this fight, as he can catch Glover with something he does not expect to be coming. Glover canโt roll with a punch that he is moving into. It would not be surprising to see Prochazka land a massive shot, starch Texeira and claim the title.
On the other hand, as large of a striking advantage as Prochazka has, Texeira has an even greater advantage in the wrestling and grappling departments. Glover will absolutely need to wrestle early and often. He very well could make it dicey if he lets Prochazka throw some bombs and burn some energy. That said, there will be no doubt where Glover will look to make this fight take place. He can finish this opponent on the floor with just a single takedown. Prochazkaโs grappling technique is not refined and reliant on bursts. That will not work against a fighter the level of Texeira.
This fight will likely be a race to a KO for Prochazka or a takedown for Glover. I very nearly made Texeira ITD a dedicated betting play at a very juicy +260. I am shying away, but I do think the fight is razor thin, and the value side is undoubtedly the Texeira side.
UFC 275 Co-Main Event
The co-main event is for the womenโs flyweight title. Valentina Shevchenko takes on challenger Taila Santos. In comparison to Shevchenkoโs recent fights, this fight is much closer. The down side is that means she is only a -680 favorite in this matchup. Yes, that is a much lower price than any of her more recent fights.
We know Shevchenko is absolutely world class. She essentially will never be giving away an advantage in any discipline or department. That will continue to be the case here, although it is different than more recent fights. Shevchenko does not have glaring advantages anywhere in this matchup, and Santos is the first fighter in some time that truly has a competitive chance. Santos is capable of counter striking and has a sound grappling game as well. The problem for Santos is she can be stuck on her back, and Shevchenko is the better wrestler in this matchup.
There may be a bit of a value on a Shevchenko bet however. It is certainly not on the large flat line, but instead on her +130 ITD line. As mentioned, I do not believe this fight will be a runaway, at least not in the early portions. However, the gas tank and conditioning of Shevchenko will be a big edge, and I think she is quite live for a finish in the championship rounds. If you are throwing a wager on this fight, it should be on Shevchenko ITD at a plus figure.
Remainder Of UFC 275 Fight Card
The rest of the pay per view portion is fantastic. First up, we get to see Joanna Jedrzejczyk run back her fight of the year and attempt to avenge the loss to Weili Zhang. That is a donโt miss fight. The rest of the pay per view is rounded out by a solid flyweight on which we will have a bet. Manel Kape takes on Rogerio Bontorin. We also get to see very live prospect Jack Della Maddalena get his biggest test to date in Ramazan Emeev.
The televised prelims are great too. We are going to see the next step in Brendan Allenโs development, and he is a betting value. More on that later. We will see the debut of highly touted young prospect Maheshate. We will also see Andre Fialho continue to seek the record for fights in a year as he takes on Jake Matthews.
UFC 275 Bet Sheet
We will have three betting picks for UFC 275. They will all be flat bets with one underdog and two favorites. With only 12 fights, three plays is about average for what we should expect, but there are a couple fights that were close to being dedicated plays. Check the other fights predictions section for those that will be noted in parenthesis.
