Tai Tuivasa enters Saturday’s action at UFC 305 on a four-fight losing streak. He has been stopped in all four of those losses, twice by knockout and twice by submission, with two of those stoppages coming in the first round. Here, he will look to turn things around on home soil, against a fighter in Rozenstruik who is also vulnerable to being stopped in the octagon these days.
For Tuivasa, the best defense in this fight is going to be a good offense. While it would be easy to say that the key to this Tai Tuivasa vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik matchup is going to be avoiding the powerful strikes of Rozenstruik, we all know that Tuivasa isn’t going to prioritize defending himself over trying to land huge shots at all times. Here, he will look to put Tuivasa away early to once again make an impression in the chaotic heavyweight division.
If either man in this fight is better served by being patient and waiting for their opponent to wear down, it is probably Rozenstruik. But, once again, that is simply not his style. Look for the fighter out of Suriname to swing for the fences just like his opponent in this matchup and to try and end this one quickly, even if doing so would not please the crowd in Perth that will be cheering for Tuivasa.
