When you think of Tai Tuivasa and Jairzinho Rozenstruik, you typically think of power punches and fast finishes. With them facing off against one another at UFC 305, we could see some explosive action from the very beginning of their heavyweight fight. Continue reading for our UFC betting picks for Tai Tuivasa vs Jairzinho Rozenstruick from Australia in what could be a show-stealing slugfest during the main card of UFC 305.
This fight will take place at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
Tai Tuivasa
Tai Tuivasa enters Saturday’s action at UFC 305 on a four-fight losing streak. He has been stopped in all four of those losses, twice by knockout and twice by submission, with two of those stoppages coming in the first round. Here, he will look to turn things around on home soil, against a fighter in Rozenstruik who is also vulnerable to being stopped in the octagon these days.
For Tuivasa, the best defense in this fight is going to be a good offense. While it would be easy to say that the key to this Tai Tuivasa vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik matchup is going to be avoiding the powerful strikes of Rozenstruik, we all know that Tuivasa isn’t going to prioritize defending himself over trying to land huge shots at all times. Instead, Tuivasa is going to need to get on the front foot and try to end this early to avoid a fifth straight defeat.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik
Jairzinho Rozenstruik has won two of his last three fights, including a knockout win over Shamil Gaziev in a Fight Night main event his last time out. Win or lose, Rozenstruik has gone four straight fights without things going to a decision, including three of his last four fights ending in the first round. Here, he will look to put Tuivasa away early to once again make an impression in the chaotic heavyweight division.
If either man in this fight is better served by being patient and waiting for their opponent to wear down, it is probably Rozenstruik. But, once again, that is simply not his style. Look for the fighter out of Suriname to swing for the fences just like his opponent in this matchup and to try and end this one quickly, even if doing so would not please the crowd in Perth that will be cheering for Tuivasa.
