Shane Burgos vs Billy Quarantillo Betting Preview
Perhaps no fighter in the UFC that is coming off a pair of non-title losses has higher stock than Shane Burgos. He is coming off losses in wars with Josh Emmett and Edson Barboza. Burgos has only lost to truly high end fighters in the UFC. He now gets a step back down in competition as he looks to get back on track. Burgos is a pressuring boxer that mixes in leg kicks to attack his opponents at all three levels. He does not like to take a step back, and with no real power coming back at him in this fight, he won’t have to. Burgos is going to push his opponent backwards and land heavy volume at all three levels in this fight.
Billy Quarantillo had his best fight to date in his last fight. He put on a show against Gabriel Benitez, which was needed after an ugly loss to Gavin Tucker. Now, this step up is far too much for Billy Q. Billy Q is a volume based striker that also likes to pressure. The problem for him is he will have no success trying to move Burgos backwards. Billy Q will be eating the heavier strikes throughout. For a fighter that fades later in fights, this one could get progressively ugly for him. He is truly levels below Burgos as a striker and I am unsure whether he would even have a grappling edge. I don’t believe he will be able to get Burgos down, but he will likely have to shoot reactive takedowns as he gets pieced up. Unless we see an affected or different version of Burgos, Billy Q really has no paths to victory.

This fight is perhaps the biggest mismatch on the card, but it does not come with nearly the largest price tag. Burgos will own the striking as he keeps Billy Q on the back foot, and will progressively run away with this fight. With decision and finish wins being about equally as likely, we will take him on the flat line.
