Cardinals vs Blue Jays Betting Pick
This game will be played at Rogers Centre at 7:07 PM ET on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
Why Bet The Blue Jays:
✅ The Blue Jays started the second half of the 2022 season with a three-game sweep over the Boston Red Sox. They dropped a whopping 28 runs on the Sawx this past Friday, and the Blue Jays are slashing a brilliant .303/.349/.459 across 714 at-bats in July.
✅ The Cardinals will miss both Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado, who are unvaccinated for COVID-19. Goldschmidt is a legitimate MVP contender, slashing a terrific .335/.417/.619 with 24 home runs and 77 RBIs in 352 at-bats this season, while Arenado is hitting a sturdy .296/.359/.528 with 18 dingers and 59 RBIs across 345 at-bats in 2022.

✅ The current Cards lineup has only ten hits (all singles) in 64 at-bats against Kevin Gausman, who’ll get the starting call for the Blue Jays. Gausman has had ups and downs in 2022, but the 31-year-old righty still holds a strong 3.00 ERA and 116/18 K/BB ratio across 18 starts and 99 innings of work this season. His FIP sits at 1.98, and Gausman ranks in the 99th percentile in chase rate and the 67th percentile in xwOBA.
St. Louis Cardinals
The Cards opened the second half of the season with a disappointing 2-1 loss in a three-game series at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. They fell to 51-46 on the season, sitting at the second spot in the NL Central, a couple of games behind the Milwaukee Brewers.
Adam Wainwright (6-8; 3.40 ERA) will toe the slab Wednesday in Toronto. The veteran righty was shellacked for seven earned runs on five hits and three walks in a 9-5 defeat at the Reds last Friday.
Toronto Blue Jays
After a 28-5 dismantling of the Red Sox this past Friday, the Blue Jays beat Boston 4-1 and 8-4 in the next two games to improve their record to 53-43 for the season. Toronto was second in the AL East on Tuesday, holding the top wild card in the American League.
Kevin Gausman yielded three earned runs on seven hits across five innings in that ridiculous victory against Boston. He also fanned ten and issued zero walks. The Blue Jays’ bullpen has a nice 2.95 ERA, .215 BABIP, and 2.3 BB/9 in 79.1 frames of work this month.
