Twins vs Padres Betting Pick
This game will be played at Petco Park at 9:40 PM ET on Friday, July 29, 2022.
Why Bet The Padres:
โ Blake Snell will get the nod for the Padres and shoot for his second straight win. Last Saturday, the 29-year-old southpaw fired five scoreless innings in a 2-1 victory at the New York Mets. Snell is 2-5 with a troublesome 4.75 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 11 starts this season, but in his four starts in July, the former Cy Young Award winner has gone 2-0 with a 3.20 ERA and 33/14 K/BB ratio across 19.2 innings of work.
โ The Twins are more dangerous when hitting the righties and could struggle against Blake Snell. The current Minnesota lineup has 16 hits in 66 at-bats versus Snell. The Twins own a 112 OPS+ against the righties and 102 OPS+ against the left-handed pitchers in 2022.

โ Minnesotaโs bullpen is 4-4 with just a couple of saves in July. The Twinsโ relievers have tossed 78 frames so far this month, posting an underwhelming 4.04 ERA, 4.61 FIP, and 1.62 HR/9.ย
Minnesota Twins
The Twins are coming off a 10-4 defeat at the Milwaukee Brewers this past Wednesday. It was their second loss in a row, as the Twins got swept by the Brewers in a two-game interleague set in Milwaukee. Minnesota fell to 52-46 on the season, still topping the AL Central a game and a half ahead of the Cleveland Guardians.
Joe Ryan will toe the slab Friday, and the 26-year-old right-hander is 7-3 with a 2.89 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 73/23 K/BB ratio in 15 starts (81 innings pitched) this season. Ryan has done an excellent job through four starts in July, notching a 2.05 ERA and 3.44 FIP across 22 frames of work.
San Diego Padres
The Padres suffered a 4-3 defeat at Comerica Park in Detroit last Wednesday and dropped a three-game set against the Tigers. San Diego fell to 55-45 on the season, occupying the second spot in the NL West and holding the middle wild card in the National League.
The Padresโ bullpen has a pedestrian 5.58 ERA in 69.1 innings of work in July, but a 3.82 FIP and .371 BABIP suggest improvement in future days. Taylor Rogers owns 28 saves in 2022. However, his ERA has gone from 2.84 to 4.35 in July.
