This game will be played at Citi Field at 4:10 PM ET on Saturday, June 18, 2022.
Why Bet The Mets:
✅ It’s hard to trust Braxton Garrett even though he fired 5.2 innings of a one-run ball against the Houston Astros last Saturday. It was his second start in 2022, and Garrett yielded four earned runs on five hits across 3.1 frames of work in his season debut, taking a loss in a 5-1 defeat to the San Francisco Giants. The 24-year-old left-hander is 3-4 with a pedestrian 4.97 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 11 career starts and one relief appearance (50.2 innings pitched).
✅ Taijuan Walker is having a nice season and will look to build on the last weekend’s performance against the Angels. The 29-year-old righty fanned ten across six innings and yielded just one run in a 4-1 victory at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. Walker carries a 4-2 record, 3.08 ERA, and 1.25 WHIP into Saturday’s date with the Marlins.

✅ The Marlins have two starting pitchers on the IL, while Pablo Lopez missed his previous turn in the rotation due to a wrist injury. Miami’s bullpen had to do some heavy lifting in June, posting a poor 6.75 ERA and 4.64 FIP across 54.2 innings of work.
Miami Marlins
The Marlins dropped to 28-33 on the season following Wednesday’s 3-1 defeat at the Philadelphia Phillies. It was Miami’s first series loss since the first day of June and a 13-12 ten-inning defeat at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, in the closer of a three-game set against the Rockies.
Miami won nine of its first 15 contests in June despite a 4.76 ERA and 1.41 WHIP. The Marlins’ offense stepped up, tallying 92 runs in the process while slashing a solid .254/.313/.428 with 22 home runs and 25 doubles across 523 at-bats.
New York Mets
The 42-23 Mets boasted the best record in the National League on Friday. But they’ve been a hit-or-miss lately, going 7-6 over their previous 13 games overall. Last Thursday, New York beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4 to clinch a three-game home set, bouncing back from a heavy 10-2 defeat in the middle game.
The Mets are slashing .244/.319/.379 with 14 homers and 17 doubles in the last couple of weeks. Their pitching staff has registered a 4.50 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in that span.
