Angels vs Mariners Betting Pick
This game will be played at T-Mobile Park at 4:10 PM ET on Sunday, August 7, 2022.
Why Bet The Mariners:
✅ Tucker Davidson will get the starting call and make his Angels debut. Across three starts and one relief appearance with the Atlanta Braves in 2022, Davidson has registered an ugly 6.46 ERA, 1.83 WHIP, and 10/13 K/BB ratio through 15.1 innings of work. The 26-year-old southpaw holds a pedestrian 5.11 ERA in 37 frames in the majors. He’s thrown 80.1 innings in the Triple-A this season, posting a troublesome 4.59 ERA and 1.32 WHIP.
✅ Marco Gonzales will take the mound for Seattle. The 30-year-old lefty has struggled of late and will look to right the ship against the Angels, who have just 23 hits in 136 at-bats against him. Shohei Ohtani is 3-for-20 with a home run, Luis Rengifo is 2-for-21 with a homer, and Taylor Ward is 2-for-11 with a double.

✅ The Angels have hit nine home runs over their previous five outings, and seven of those came in an 8-7 defeat to the lowly Oakland Athletics last Thursday. The Halos have posted an underwhelming .229 batting average and .299 on-base percentage in the last couple of weeks and hold an 81 OPS+ against the left-handed pitchers in 2022.
Los Angeles Angels
The Angels narrowly defeated the Mariners in the opening game of the series at T-Mobile Park to bounce back from that shocking loss against the Athletics. Their offense has been a complete mess in the last two months, slashing .215/.280/.361 in June and .200/.278/.299 in July. Mike Trout has been sidelined since July 12 with a back injury and won’t be available for Sunday’s battle against Seattle.
The Halos’ bullpen has done a good job in the last ten days and 36 innings of work, tallying a 3.00 ERA, 3.06 FIP, and .250 BABIP. Los Angeles’ relievers sit at 4.08 ERA and 4.11 FIP for the season.
Seattle Mariners
The Mariners started August with a 2-1 series victory at Yankee Stadium in New York. They dropped to 57-50 on the season following Friday’s loss to the Angels, sitting at the second spot in the AL West 12.5 games behind the Astros and 11.5 ahead of the Angels.
Marco Gonzales is 6-11 with a 3.95 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and 65/39 K/BB ratio in 21 starts (118.1 innings pitched) this season. He took a tough loss in a 2-1 defeat at Angel Stadium in June, throwing six innings of a two-run ball.
