Angels vs White Sox Betting Pick
This game will be played at Guaranteed Rate Field at 7:10 PM ET on Friday, April 29, 2022.
Why Bet The Angels:
✅ Noah Syndergaard will toe the rubber for the Angels, and the 29-year-old right-hander has done a superb job in his first three starts in 2022. He carries a 2-0 record, 2.12 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, and 11/4 K/BB ratio across 17 innings of work. Syndergaard must be fired up to prove his worth after missing the last two years due to Tommy John surgery, and he’ll have a nice opportunity when he takes on the White Sox. Chicago is struggling mightily against the righties, batting only .204/.252/.327 in 437 at-bats this season.
✅ The White Sox will start Vince Velasquez, and it’s tough to trust the 29-year-old right-hander. After throwing four innings of a one-run ball in his season debut, Velasquez has allowed eight earned runs in his next two starts and eight innings of work. Last Saturday, Velasquez yielded a couple of home runs and was pounded for five earned runs on eight hits and a walk in a 9-2 defeat at the Minnesota Twins.

✅ The Angels boast the highest OPS in baseball (.772). They rank fifth in the majors in batting average (.255), third in on-base percentage (.335), and first in slugging percentage (.437). Over the last seven days, the Halos have slashed .260/.338/.469 to go with nine home runs and 30 RBIs.
Los Angeles Angels
The Angels extended their winning streak to four games last Wednesday. They beat Cleveland 9-5 in the third contest of a four-game set at Angel Stadium, and the Halos were looking to sweep the Guardians on Thursday (their closing game has been excluded from the analysis).
Shohei Ohtani tossed five frames of a two-run ball on Wednesday while going 3-for-5 with an RBI at the plate. Taylor Ward was the Angels’ hero, slugging a grand slam off Zach Plesac in the bottom of the second inning. It was his fourth no-doubter of the season, as Ward improved his OPS to 1.346.
Chicago White Sox
The White Sox put an end to their eight-game losing streak with a 7-3 victory to Kansas City last Wednesday. Dylan Cease whiffed nine across six frames of a two-run, three-hit ball, while Andrew Vaughn smacked a tiebreaking three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh.
The Chi Sox desperately need more from their offense. Yasmani Grandal owns an embarrassing 50 OPS+, Jose Abreu is slashing .203/.288/.356, while Luis Robert carries a .609 OPS. Chicago is without outfielder Eloy Jimenez, who’ll miss the next two months due to a hamstring injury.
