Total O/U: 9.5

The Detroit Tigers (22-32) and the Atlanta Braves (30-27) meet for game two of their three-game series. The Tigers won game one and will be looking for their fourth straight win. Pitching for the Tigers will be Daniel Norris (2-3 4.18 ERA) and he will be going up against Braves’ pitcher Mike Soroka (5-1 1.07 ERA).

Norris will be making his ninth start of the season after starting the year in the bullpen. He has had an up and down season so far this year. Seven of his appearances he has allowed two runs or less, with two of those in relief. Four of his appearances he has allowed three or more earned runs, including six against the Oakland Athletics on May 17 in just 5 ⅓ innings.

Soroka is having a Cy Young worthy season through the first third of his campaign. He will be making his ninth start of the season and he has yet to allow more than one earned run in any outing this season. He has only allowed one home run this season and has a WHIP of 0.89 (5th best in baseball among pitchers with at least 50 innings pitched). Soroka has only allowed 30 hits in 50 ⅔ innings.

The Tigers have the second-worst scoring offense in baseball and are fifth-worst in hits. Soroka should be able to hand the Tigers today with relative ease. There is a good chance we can see him go 7+ scoreless innings today. The Braves offense isn’t the best in baseball (16th in runs per game) but should be able to find a way to score some runs off of Norris. The Braves won’t need too many runs in this one in order to win, so the UNDER should be the pick in this one as well.
