White Sox vs Rays Betting Pick
This game will be played at Tropicana Field at 7:10 PM ET on Friday, June 3, 2022.
Why Bet The Rays:
✅ The Rays will give Shane McClanahan a nod, and the 25-year-old southpaw is 5-2 with a sparkling 2.01 ERA, 2.60 FIP, and 0.91 WHIP in ten starts this season. The White Sox are way more dangerous when hitting the lefties, but McClanahan is one of the best left-handed pitchers in baseball. Shane leads the majors in strikeouts with 81 across 58.1 innings of work. He’s allowed only two earned runs over his previous four appearances (26 innings).
✅ Vince Velasquez will take the hill for the White Sox, and the 29-year-old righty is having another disappointing season. After going 3-9 with a 6.30 ERA in 2021, Velasquez is 2-3 with a pedestrian 5.30 ERA, 5.11 FIP, and 1.40 WHIP in seven starts and one relief appearance in 2022. He’s surrendered a whopping 11 earned runs over his previous two starts.

✅ The current Rays are slashing a terrific .361/.531/.509 in 31 at-bats against Vince Velasquez, so I’m expecting them to put on a strong performance at the plate. Keep your eyes on Randy Arozarena, who’s 4-for-6 with a couple of doubles versus Velasquez.
Chicago White Sox
Thursday night’s games are not included in the analysis, and the 23-25 Chi Sox were trying to avoid a sweep in a three-game set at Rogers Centre in Toronto. They’ve won only two of their previous seven contests.
The White Sox have some serious injury problems. Tim Anderson has been their best player in 2022, and the 28-year-old shortstop will spend some time on the shelf due to a groin injury. Reliever Joe Kelly and outfielder Eloy Jimenez are on the IL, too.
Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays have some injury worries as well. Wander Franco is on the 10-Day IL with a quadriceps injury, while Brandon Lowe is still recovering from a back injury. Furthermore, six relievers are currently on the injury list, though the Rays’ bullpen continues to play at a high level.
Tampa Bay played Texas on Thursday afternoon, looking to tie a four-game road series. The Rays have been a hit-or-miss lately, going 6-6 in their previous 12 games.
