The second race of the 2022 Formula 1 season will take place in Saudi Arabia, as the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix is set for Jeddah on Sunday, March 27, 2022. There, Lewis Hamilton will look to defend his title on this track, after he won the inaugural edition of the race in 2021. But he will face stiff competition from a Ferrari team that had a boatload of success in the opening race of the season. Here, we will look at the odds for the upcoming race, as well as some promotions bettors can take advantage of when betting the race.
F1 Saudi Arabia Grand Prix Sportsbook Promos
There are multiple sportsbooks with promotions available to use when betting on the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix. These offers, from some of the biggest names in sports betting, provide some added value to bettors willing to wager on this race.
BetMGM $1,000 Risk-Free Bet
New bettors at BetMGM can take advantage of a risk-free bet worth up to $1,000. With this offer, bettors can wager up to $1,000 on whoever they think is going to win this race. FanDuel 2 Risk-Free Bets Up To $2000
At PointsBet, bettors can take on 2 risk-free bets worth up to $2,000. This offer works the same way that the BetMGM risk-free bet does, allowing bettors to use them together on this race. Bettors can back one driver at BetMGM and another at PointsBet to give themselves a better chance to pick the winning driver without risk on either side.
F1 Saudi Arabia Grand Prix Odds
The odds for the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix favor two drivers above the rest of the pack: Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen. Leclerc won the season opening race in Bahrain, while Verstappen finished second in qualifying but had to retire from the race due to fuel system issues. They are expected to be the top-two finishers in this race, barring any additional mechanical issues.
Driver | Odds to win |
Charles Leclerc | +125 |
Max Verstappen | +155 |
Carlos Sainz | +650 |
Lewis Hamilton | +1000 |
Sergio Perez | +1600 |
George Russell | +2800 |
Kevin Magnussen | +8000 |
Fernando Alonso | +13000 |
Valtteri Bottas | +13000 |
Lando Norris | +15000 |
As you can see, there are really only six drivers being given a chance to win the race, with every other driver at 80/1 odds or higher. But the top two drivers in this race are expected to be Leclerc and Verstappen, as they are the only drivers inside of 6/1 odds heading into the second Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.
F1 Saudi Arabia Grand Prix History
So far, there has only been one running of the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, with the inaugural edition of the race taking place in 2021. That race was won by Lewis Hamilton, who finished 21 seconds ahead of second place finisher Max Verstappen. While the Ferrari duo of Leclerc and Carlos Sainz finished first and second in Bahrain to start the 2022 season, they finished seventh and eighth on this track a season ago.
It is worth noting that Hamilton and Verstappen had a confrontation at this track last year, where Verstappen’s aggressive driving was criticized by the eventual winner. There was also a crash involving Leclerc that negatively impacted his chances a year ago.
F1 Saudi Arabia Grand Prix Prediction
Based on the limited history of this track, it is hard to make any bet based off of previous results in Jeddah. Hamilton looks like a good value at 10/1 odds based on his victory here last season, but Verstappen and Leclerc should fare better here this time around. Verstappen at a plus price may be the best bet here, but any of the top-four on the above odds list could easily come away with the victory in Saudi Arabia.
