The PGA Tour continues its West Coast Swing, and heads as far south as they can in California, heading to the courses at Torrey Pines in San Diego for the Farmers Insurance Open. This is another odd setup this week for the PGA Tour for two reasons: The tournament runs Wednesday to Saturday to avoid the final round being on at the same time as the NFL’s conference championship games, and it’s the second week in a row the event will take place on multiple courses. Here’s a look at this week’s golf betting picks for the Farmers Insurance Open.

Why Bet On Tony Finau:
✅ Aside from Jon Rahm, more on him below, there may not be a player who has had a better extended stretch on Tour than Finau, who dating back to the last 36 rounds of play, is tops among this week’s entrants in strokes gained, and strokes gained: tee to green.
✅ He’s made eight trips to the Farmers Insurance Open, and made the cut seven times, finishing among the Top-25 each time, including four times finishing among the Top-10.
✅ Finau’s game sets up well for the style of play at both courses, requiring a player to be long and accurate, with a number of approaches that will be over 200 yards. Again, Finau leads all of golf, even Rahm, in strokes gained: tee to green over his last 36 times teeing it up.

Farmers Insurance Open Course Breakdown
Torrey Pines is the place people think of when it comes to golf in San Diego, and with good reason, with the famed South Course recently hosting the US Open back in 2021. While recent weeks have seen the Tour’s best turn the courses into pitch and putts with scores nearing -30, expect a little bit tougher test this week.
The South Course will tip the scales at a whopping 7,765 yards, the longest course they’ll play all season that isn’t a major, while the North Course checks in at 7,258 yards, but plays longer due to being right on the ocean with the heavy air. Last year the South saw players average a 72.35, while the North was much easier at 68.77.
Another thing to watch is the wind, which is expected to be strong during the early rounds on Wednesday and Thursday. Both courses play as Par 72.
Other Golfers Who Can Win the Farmers Insurance Open
Jon Rahm (+450): The hottest player in the world, if you aren’t aware of how hot he’s been over his last seven starts, Rahm enters this week looking for his third straight win in as many starts. The only reason he’s not THE pick up above, is that he’s on such a heater, that his odds for an outright win are miniscule in terms of golf betting.
Will Zalatoris (+1800): Zalatoris has been steady since his return from a back injury, making two cuts, including an 11th place finish at the Tournament of Champions. He thrives on long courses, as evidenced by his play at this event, which saw him finish runner-up and in a tie for seventh the last two years.
Max Homa (+2200): Homa is another guy who has a great history at Torrey Pines, with a pair of Top-20s in two of his last three trips there. He returns after two weeks off, but did post a tie for third in that lone start at the Tournament of Champions.
