Below is my pick for the TCU Horned Frogs at West Virginia Mountaineers. All odds are from BetMGM Sportsbook.
TCU Horned Frogs at West Virginia Mountaineers (-3.5): O/U 45.5 (-112/-109)
Last time out, TCU hosted the Texas Tech Red Raiders and came away with a 34-18 victory. This game didn’t feel as close as the scoreboard says as TCU never trailed and led by three scores for most of the fourth quarter. QB Max Duggan did not do anything through the air, where he went 11/23 for 73 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception, but he excelled on the ground with 19 carries for 154 yards and three touchdowns. The TCU defense held the Red Raiders to 311 total yards and forced one interception.
West Virginia visited the then #22 Texas Longhorns and suffered a tough 17-13 loss. Defense was the name of the game in this one as no team led by more than seven points throughout. Texas led 17-13 heading into the fourth quarter and neither team could score in the final frame to either put this away, for Texas, or win the game for West Virginia. QB Jarret Doege went 35/50 for 317 yards with zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. The lone WVU touchdown came from Leddie Brown who carried the ball 15 times for 47 yards and that touchdown.
Series History: West Virginia has won the last two meetings between these two schools and now holds a 5-4 all-time series advantage.
CFB Predictions: I really like the Mountaineers defense and think they will hold TCU to under 10 points. Give me West Virginia -3.5.
