MACtion gets the second to last week of the College Football season underway Tuesday night as the 4-6 Ohio Bobcats takes on the 3-7 Bowling Green Falcons. Bowling Green is looking to end the season on a high note, but have no chance of getting to a bowl game this season.
Ohio has two games left this season and need to win both to get to a bowl game for the fifth straight season. The schedule sets up nicely for the Bobcats as they get the second to worst team in the MAC, Bowling Green, this week and finish at winless Akron next week.
Below is my pick for the Ohio Bobcats at the Bowling Green Falcons. All lines are from the FanDuel Sportsbook.
Ohio Bobcats (-18) at Bowling Green Falcons: O/U 58 points (-110/-110)
The Ohio Bobcats lost another close game, last week, at home against Western Michigan. Ohio scored a touchdown with nine seconds to go to send the game in OT, but were only able to kick a field goal in their first overtime possession. Western Michigan got into the end zone on their possession and the Broncos left Ohio with a 37-34 overtime win. That loss was the second consecutive three point home loss for the Bobcats as they lost two weeks ago, 24-21, to the Miami Ohio RedHawks. The Bobcats have won two of their four road games this season with both road wins coming against conference opponents. Ohio is 2-8 against the spread and the over, and under, have both hit in five of their 10 games this season.
Bowling Green’s tough go of things continued last week as the Falcons were throttled 44-3 by the Miami Ohio RedHawks. Miami scored 27 unanswered points in the second quarter and cruised in the second half to an easy victory. The Falcons have now lost three of their last four games and are just playing out the string at this point in the season. All three of Bowling Green’s wins have come at home with one coming against 0-10 Akron and the other coming against FCS Morgan State. Bowling Green is 3-7 against the spread and the under has hit in eight of their 10 games this season.
Series History: Bowling Green leads the all-time series 40-28-2, but Ohio has won three straight meetings between these two.
Game Prediction: Ohio comes out fast and wins this one by 20+. Back the Bobcats -18 Tuesday night.
