North Texas vs UTEP Betting Pick
North Texas should have an explosive offense with QB Grant Gunnell, or perhaps Austin Aune, throwing to Roderic Burns, Damon Ward and deep threat Jyaire Shorter. The Mean Green lost their fantastic RB but do return four other backs who had touches last season. They also return four of their five offensive lineman from last year. Defensively, North Texas is going to struggle, they lost a lot of talent from an already poor defense, but LBs KD Nixon, Larry Nixon and Kevin Woods are all back.
UTEP will return QB Gavin Hardison, and he will be looking for some skill position players to step up. WR Tyrin Smith, TE Trent Thompson, and RBs Ronald Awatt and Deion Hankins are names to know. The offensive line is stacked as they return three All-Conference USA players returning to anchor the offense. Defensively, the Miners will be relying on LBs Breon Hayward and Tyrice Knight, Des Praise Amaewhule and Jadrian Taylor, and secondary parts Kobe Hylton and Josiah Allen.
Series History: North Texas has won the last five meetings and now leads the all-time series 19-8-3.
