Last time out, Nebraska got the first Big Ten win with a 35-21 win against Indiana. Nebraska led 7-0 after the first quarter, but the game was tied at 21 as we entered halftime. It was a scoreless third quarter, but the Cornhuskers dominated the final 15 minutes to get the two touchdowns win in week five. Casey Thompson went 18/27 for 270 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and added one touchdown on the ground. Anthony Grant ran the ball 32 times for 136 yards, a 4.3 average, and Trey Palmer hauled in eight passes for 157 yards, a 19.6 average, and one touchdown in the win. Defensively, the Cornhuskers allowed 290 total yards and forced one Indiana interception.
Rutgers visited #3 Ohio State and were blown out, losing 49-10. The Scarlet Knights led 7-0 early in the first quarter, but then the Buckeyes woke up and led 14-7 by the end of the first quarter and 28-7 at the half. Rutgers scored first in the third quarter to make it 28-10, but that was the last we saw of Rutgers as Ohio State scored the final 21 points of the game. Evan Simon went 10/19 for 74 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the loss. Sean Ryan hauled in two balls for 40 yards, a 20.0 average, and one touchdown on the day. Defensively, the Scarlet Knights allowed 413 total yards and forced two Ohio State turnovers, one interception and one fumble recovery.
Series History: Nebraska has won all five meetings between these schools – a span taking place from 1920 through 2020.
Pick: I like Nebraska to go on a little run here and that continues with a road win Friday night.
