A fun Big Ten game is on the cards for Week One when the #17 Indiana Hoosiers visit the #18 Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Both teams enjoyed solid 2020 seasons and will look to build off that success in 2021. This game will air live on the Big Ten Network at 3:30 p.m. EST.
Indiana enjoyed their best season in a long time, in 2020, by finishing 6-2 (6-1 in the Big Ten) and an Outback Bowl appearance. The Hoosiers lost the Outback Bowl 26-20 to Ole Miss, but with a normal offseason Tom Allen has his guys hopeful to take another step.
Iowa had a normal Iowa season that saw them finish 6-2 overall and make the Music City Bowl. The Hawkeyes bowl game was ultimately cancelled, due to Missouri COVID issues, but nonetheless it was another solid performance from Kirk Ferentz and Iowa.
Below are the ATS College Football predictions, and preview, for the battle between the #17 Indiana Hoosiers and #18 Iowa Hawkeyes. All odds are from BetMGM Sportsbook.

Indiana returns talented QB Michal Penix Jr, who is coming off a knee injury, and he has plenty of offensive weapons to make him look good. Wide Receiver Ty Fryfogle is a fifth-year senior who has gotten better every season, and Tight End Peyton Hendershot will be key to Indiana’s success. Defensively, the Hoosiers will rely on the Linebacker duo of Micah McFadden and Cam Jones, and Cornerback’s Taiwan Mullen and Jaylin Williams.
Iowa doesn’t generally have an exciting offense and it remains to be seen if QB Spencer Petras can lead the Hawkeyes to glory. Tight End Sam LaPorta is another star at the position for Iowa, but RB Tyler Goodson will be the star of the show for the Hawkeyes offense. Defensively, the Hawkeyes have talent at all levels, but the star is on the defensive line with DE Zach VanValkenburg. Iowa also has a strong secondary headed by Jack Koerner, Matt Hankins, and Riley Moss.
Series History: Iowa has won the last three meetings and leads the all-time series 45-28-4.
CFB Predictions: I like Iowa -3.5 to get their season started with a nice home win.
