This will be the first-ever meeting between Charlotte and Georgia. For Georgia, it’s a tune-up game with major implications. The Bulldogs are still very much in the mix for a College Football Playoff berth and are still in a spot where they could make the SEC Championship Game. A win here wouldn’t really help them in any way, but a loss would be disqualifying for their playoff chances.
Charlotte is nearing the end a rough season under head coach Tim Albin, having won only once against an FCS opponent. Georgia should be able to run the ball throughout this game and will have very little incentive to do anything but run the clock late.
