Wright State vs Northern Kentucky Betting Pick
This game will be played at Indiana Farmers Coliseum at 7:00 PM ET on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
Why Bet On Wright State:
✅ Wright State is a better offensive team than Northern Kentucky, which will be the big difference maker in this game. They average around six points per game more than the Norse and shoot a better percentage from the field, and should be able to get buckets down the stretch more easily than their opponent in this big stage by Horizon League standards.
✅ Tanner Holden has averaged a double-double in the Horizon League tournament for Wright State. He is averaging 19.5 points and 10 rebounds per game during the conference tournament, including a 27-point performance against Oakland in the quarterfinals. Expect Holden to make an impact late in this game for the Raiders.

✅ Wright State overcame 19 turnovers in their semifinal win over Cleveland State and still beat the top seed in the conference by double figures. Expect the Raiders to bring that turnover number down and for them to win as a result.
Wright State Raiders
Wright State has not faced much resistance in the Horizon League tournament so far, making it to the final as the four-seed. Their win in the semifinals came over the top seeded Cleveland State Vikings, with Wright State jumping out to a double-digit halftime lead and seeing things out in the final 20 minutes. The Raiders held Cleveland State to a 3/20 shooting performance from three-point range, which made the difference in sending Wright State to the championship game.
It cannot be overstated how important limiting turnovers will be for Wright State in this game if they want to go to the NCAA Tournament. The Raiders committed just three turnovers against Oakland in the quarterfinals, but that number ballooned to 19 in the semifinals against Cleveland State. If the Raiders cannot keep control of the basketball, they are in danger of missing out on the big dance.
Northern Kentucky Norse
Northern Kentucky has also cruised through its side of the Horizon League tournament bracket. The three-seed in the tournament has beaten Detroit Mercy and IPFW by an average of 16 points per game to make it to the final in Indianapolis. But while things have gone smoothly for the Norse so far, they will need to improve their offensive production if they want to win this matchup.
The Norse scored just 57 points in their semifinal win over IPFW, holding the Mastodons to just 43 points for the game. Against a team like Wright State, whose offense is so dynamic, Northern Kentucky may not be able to rely on their defense to play that well again. A shooting performance like the one the Norse had in the semifinals, where they went 5/19 from three-point range, will likely not cut it here.
