The Providence Friars (2-1) and Colorado Buffaloes (2-0) will battle in Boulder on Friday night. Providence is on the road for the first time this season and they will try to pass a test against a power conference team for the first time this year, while Colorado looks to stay unbeaten after a couple of close calls. Game Snapshot
- Matchup: Providence Friars @ Colorado Buffaloes
- Date & Time: Friday, November 14, 2025, 9:00 PM ET
- Venue: CU Events Center, Boulder, Colorado
- Broadcast: ESPN+
Key Storylines
- Momentum: Providence enters at 2-1, recently routing Penn 106-81 after suffering their first loss of the season against Virginia Tech. Colorado stands at 2-0 with a pair of early wins, though they have yet to face a major test and barely survived at home against Eastern Washington and Montana State.
- Rebounding edge: Providence ranked 43rd nationally in rebound percentage last season, while Colorado ranked 109th. The Friars have also racked up more rebounds per game than the Buffaloes early in this season. This suggests the Friars could gain a real advantage on the boards.
- Colorado’s three-point defense: Early in the season, the Buffaloes have allowed opponents to shoot well from deep. Providence will try to capitalize on that and stay efficient from the perimeter in this matchup.
- Home factor: The altitude and home crowd typically help Colorado, but the Buffaloes’ defensive inconsistency creates uncertainty even on their home floor. This is the first road game of the season for the Friars and that could make things tougher on them.

Final Thoughts
Oddsmakers expect a tight game between the Friars and Buffaloes and I’m inclined to agree with that assessment. But I do think that Providence will get a win in their first road game of the 2025-26 season. Colorado has looked thoroughly unimpressive against a couple of opponents from the Big Sky to begin this year. They should flounder against a Big East team in this game, while Providence improves to 3-1 early in the season.
