Why Bet On Clemson:
✅ These teams are going in very different directions toward the end of the season. NC State has lost four straight games going into the conference tournament, while Clemson has won four straight games entering the action in Brooklyn. Expect Clemson to finish off the Wolfpack thanks to the momentum they’ve built, while NC State has been flat.
✅ Statistically, NC State has allowed more points than they have scored this season, which should be difficult for a Power 5 team to do given how easy their non-conference schedules typically are. The porous defense of the Wolfpack will cost them in this game against a Clemson team that is better at shooting the basketball than NC State.

✅ Clemson and NC State have played once this season, with Clemson beating NC State on the road in that matchup. Here, at a neutral site, home court advantage will not keep the Wolfpack afloat in the game the way it did in their first meeting. Expect Clemson to have an even sharper performance against NC State here.
NC State Wolfpack
A disappointing season for the NC State Wolfpack has the chance to turn around on Tuesday, as they play in the first round of the ACC Tournament. Despite finishing last in the conference standings at the end of the regular season, the Wolfpack still have a chance to run through the tournament and grab its automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. However, given the way they have played down the stretch, that seems like an unlikely proposition.
The Wolfpack have lost their final four games of the regular season, dropping contests to Boston College, North Carolina, Wake Forest, and Florida State in that span. Only one of those games was decided by single digits, as NC State lost by eight to Boston College before being beaten by double digits by their final three regular season foes. It will take a better defensive showing from the Eagles for them to avoid going one and done in this tournament, as the Wolfpack has allowed 80 or more points in three straight games.
Clemson Tigers
While NC State has struggled down the stretch of this season, the Clemson Tigers have surged. They won their final four regular season games, beating Wake Forest, Boston College, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech to finish in 10th place in the league standings. While Clemson clearly has some flaws, they have proven over the last couple of weeks that they are capable of taking care of business against the worst of the ACC.
In their first matchup this season, Clemson shot 49% from the field against NC State, but only made three of 10 three-point shot attempts. Clemson averages more than double that number of three-point attempts per game, and they will likely look to make more of an impact from beyond the arc in this contest. Either way, Clemson has already proven it can beat NC State without the help of the three-point shot.
