Buffalo at Michigan Betting Preview
The opening week of the college basketball season is here and we have an interesting non-conference game between the Buffalo Bulls and the Michigan Wolverines. Buffalo received 11 of 12 first-place votes and were picked to win the MAC in the preseason poll. Michigan received 13 first-place votes and were tied with Purdue at the top of the Big Ten preseason poll. This game will air live on the Big Ten Network.
Last season, Buffalo finished in second place in the MAC after going 16-9 overall and 12-5 in the conference. The Bulls lost to Ohio in the MAC Championship game and then lost to Colorado State in the first round of the NIT.
Michigan won the 2020-2021 regular season Big Ten title after going 23-5 overall and 14-3 in conference play. The Wolverines lost to Ohio State in the semifinals of the Big Ten tournament and then lost to UCLA in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
Below is my pick, and preview, for the battle between the Buffalo Bulls and Michigan Wolverines.

Buffalo at Michigan Betting Pick
Buffalo returns a lot of talent to a team that finished just short of reaching the tournament last season. The Bulls will be led by preseason All-MAC first team picks Josh Mballa, who averaged 15.3 ppg, and Jeenathan Williams, who may end up winning the MAC Player of the Year. Buffalo also returns Ronaldo Segu, 13.3 ppg, and LaQuill Hardnett, who grabbed 6.5 rebounds per game. The big loss for Buffalo is guard Jayvon Graves who averaged 14.2 ppg last season.
Michigan is going to be a title contender this season and all you have to do is look at their starting line-up. The Maize and Blue will be led by first team All-Big Ten center Hunter Dickinson. Coastal Carolina transfer DeVante’ Jones and fifth year senior Eli Brooks will be the two guards leading the way. One of the best freshmen in the country will start at wing for the Wolverines in Caleb Houston and senior Brandon Johns returns and will start at forward. This team is stacked and should make a deep run in March, and potentially April.
