Opening week of the regular season continues Wednesday night when the Bellarmine Knights visit the Louisville Cardinals. Bellarmine had a fantastic second season in D1 and will look to continue that momentum this season. It will be rough times for Louisville for next few years. Below is my college basketball pick for Bellarmine vs Louisville.
Bellarmine vs Louisville Betting Pick
This game will be played at KFC Yum! Center at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
Why Bet On Bellarmine:
✅ The Knights are a good team that will be high on confidence after last season’s ASUN Tournament run.
✅ Louisville is going to need some time to learn how to play with each other and that should cause a slow start to the season

Bellarmine Knights
Last season, Bellarmine finished 20-13 overall and 11-5 in Atlantic Sun play, good for second in the regular season standings. The Knights went on a run in the ASUN Conference tournament and went on to lift the championship. Due to NCAA rules for new teams to D1, Bellarmine was not able to compete in the NCAA Tournament and the ASUN’s bid went to Jacksonville State.
In the preseason media poll, Bellarmine was picked to make a step back this season as they were selected sixth in the ASUN coaches poll and fifth in the media poll. No Knight was selected to the preseason all-conference team, but Juston Betz was selected as the preseason defensive player of the year.
Louisville Cardinals
Louisville struggled in 2021-2022 as the finished 13-19 overall and 6-14 in ACC play, which was a tie for 11th place. The Cardinals won their opening round game in the ACC Tournament, but fell to Virginia in the second round. Head coach Chris Mack was fired in January and replaced by Kenny Payne after the season.
There was a lot of turnover in the offseason as six players transferred, three graduated, and two walk-ones did not return to the program. Kenny Payne hit the recruiting trail, and transfer portal, hard as four players are transferring in and four, four-star recruits are heading to campus.
In the preseason media polls, Louisville was picked 12th of 15 teams in the ACC. No Louisville player was selected to any of the preseason all-conference or player of the year lists.
