Ottawa Redblacks at Saskatchewan Roughriders Betting Preview
The Ottawa Redblacks are still in search of their first victory of the season, as they visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders in a Friday night contest. Ottawa hasn’t played all that bad, with each loss by a touchdown or less, but they haven’t been able to make the plays when they need them.
A portion of the blame has to fall on quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, the Redblacks’ big offseason acquisition. He’s been able to move the ball, throwing for 873 yards in three games, but has just one TD toss. The Redblacks are No. 4 in total offense, but are averaging just 18.3 points per game, which is tied for No. 5.
The Roughriders are 3-1 on the season, scoring three TDs in the first 10 minutes of the second half against Montreal to turn a 13-11 halftime deficit into a 32-13 lead and cruise to the victory. Montreal made four turnovers, while the ‘Riders didn’t make one, which aided the Saskatchewan cause.
Cody Fajardo was efficient at quarterback and the Roughriders got their rushing attack going in the second half, finishing with 163 yards on 25 carries.

Ottawa Redblacks at Saskatchewan Roughriders Pick & Prediction
Ottawa had high hopes entering the season, but a tough early schedule has the team still looking for its first victory. They’ve been outscored by 12 points in three games, so it isn’t a matter of being outplayed, but failing to capitalize on opportunities when they present themselves. The Redblacks have 10 field goals and nine of them have been 39 yards or less.
The Roughriders have played a bit of an easy schedule so far, with two games against 1-3 Montreal and games against 0-4 Hamilton and 1-3 Edmonton. Saskatchewan is the better team, but asking them to win by a touchdown could be a tall order.
