Elks vs Stampeders Betting Preview
The good news for the Edmonton Elks is theyโre away from home. With a home losing streak that has reached 13 games, Edmonton is probably thankful to be on the road, where theyโve gone 3-3 so far this season. The bad news is theyโre playing the Calgary Stampeders.
Calgary made the quarterback change from Bo Levi Mitchell to Jake Maier and it paid off, as he threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns, only to see the Stampeders lose to Winnipeg 31-29. The Stampeders rushed for 115 yards on 18 attempts but allowed Winnipeg to run for 171 yards. That shouldnโt be a problem here for Calgary, as the Elks rush for 85.5 yards per game.
Edmontonโs quarterback Taylor Cornelius was just 14 for 37 in the passing department but did throw for 287 yards and rushed for 39 yards and two touchdowns. You have to get better quarterback play if you want to win in the CFL, or pretty much any league.
This is the first game of a home-and-home series, with the two teams traveling to Edmonton next week. The Elks did give the Stampeders a battle in the first meeting, with Calgary coming away with a 30-23 victory, which should help keep Calgary focused, although you have to wonder if last weekโs game took a little out of the Stampeders.

Elks vs Stampeders Pick & Prediction
The Stampeders looked like a different team offensively last week and believe that will carry over here. Even though Maier was impressive last week, the Stampeders still lost, so think theyโll go all out here to get a win.
The Elks arenโt great on either side of the ball but they should be able to put a few points on the scoreboard and have some several big-play receivers โ itโs just a matter of Taylor getting the ball in their hands.
