Lions vs Elks Betting Preview
British Columbia is trying to lock up the No. 2 spot in the West, which would allow them to play Calgary at home in the playoffs, while the Elks are playing their final game of the season. The Elks do have a little bit incentive here, as they’re trying to avoid their second straight season without a victory at home, something that has to be weighing on them. But getting a win against a team battling for playoff position isn’t going to be easy, especially with starting quarterback Taylor Cornelius, who suffered a spleen injury last week, missing the game.
The Elks will turn to Tre Ford behind center and the rookie hasn’t been very good this season, completing 18 of 33 passes with one TD and three interceptions on the season. He was better in his lone start, leading the Elks to an upset win over Hamilton, so he gets another opportunity to show the team what he can do as a starter.
The Lions got the job done last week against a Winnipeg team that was resting some players and should go all out for the win here in an attempt to clinch the No. 2 spot. Quarterback Vernon Adams wasn’t at his best against the Blue Bombers, throwing for just 138 yards and one touchdown, but he didn’t make any turnovers and should find the Edmonton defense a lot more to his liking. If the Lions clinch the No. 2 spot, giving up a first-round pick for Adams will have been worth it.
The British Columbia defense scored twice last week and while the offense struggled most of the game, they were able to get off a nearly six-minute drive in the fourth quarter that led to a field goal and gave the Lions a 33-24 advantage when the outcome was in doubt. James Butler ran for 104 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Lions vs Elks Pick & Prediction
British Columbia has everything to play for here, while the Elks will be cleaning out their lockers and heading home after this one. It’s been a rough stretch for Edmonton fans, who have had to sit through 16 straight losses at home, but at least they can go less than two miles away and watch Connor McDavid. Adams has a habit of bouncing back after lackluster performances and think he’ll do so here.
